It's the fortieth anniversary for Star Trek and there will be a huge convention this year at the Las Vegas Hilton. Anyone here planning on going? I will definetly be there. The Experience is like my favorite place on the planet and I've been to two conventions there so far. I'm really looking forward to it.

When is this gathering of wanna-be captains and crew? I might make it, if it's not during one of the many vacation blackouts I face...

Warriors from the Klingon Empire will be present. Look for my black battle cloak and say hello. Of course, you only may get a cold stare or a sneer, but don't let that scare you off. It's just our way. |

Hi, I'm considering going to the Las Vegas convention, but am somewhat disappointed that there are going to be somewhere around 5,000 people there. It seems like too much. Any opinions on the pros or cons of such a large convention?

Yeah, I went to the Vegas con and had an absolute blast.. Sure I spent way too much money and man was it crowded, but it was well worth it..Nimoy and Shatner were great on stage together!!

I arrived in Vegas a day and a half before the convention. I wanted to make sure that I had plenty of time to spend in 'The Experience'. I'm crazy about that place. It's probably the reason that the Vegas convention is the one I go to every year..I even had another bridge pic taken, this time in uniform..
Aside from George Takei's political views and statements, the convention was great. I even met and hung out with 2 members from my trek board. It was very cool meeting them in person.
Certainly the hightlight of the convention for me was seeing Shatner and Nimoy on stage together. They were fantastic!
And Avery Brooks, Kate Mulgrew and Scott Bakula were amazing to see up there too..Absolutely wonderful. And Robert Picardo and Ethan Phillips did a very cool skit called 'House Call'..Just like last year Garrett Wang was a scream. What a funny guy. He was on stage with Tim Russ..They also talked a little bit about that upcoming project that they are working on, 'Of Gods and Men'..Sounds great..
Of course I was very happy to see Chase Masterson up there as they were reporting her unlikely to make it because of her working on a movie. No Photo Op with Chase this year but I did get an excellent autographed pic. And Gwynyth Walsh was fantastic filling in for her Duras Sister comrade Barbara March who couldn't make it. I even got a photo op with her. I hope it came out good..
The last day was a little disappointing with Jolene getting sick and Brannon not showing. But Scott Bakula and Michael Dorn were fantastic of course..
I could share a few pics...

I SO wish I could have been there. I will have to settle for Dragon Con next week. Glad you had a great time and thanks for sharing your pics.
